The caterpillar was found on the red young leaf of the Horse Bush (Dendrolobium umbellatum), guarded by 2 large weaver ants (Oecophylla smaragdina). The current established host plants are Syzygium myrtifolium, Mangifera indica (Mango), Hibiscus tiliaceus (Sea Hibiscus) and Averrhoa carambola (Star Fruit).
